About Annapoorna Temple
Chinmaya Annapoorna will be one of the first Annapoorna Devi temple in Africa. This is the vision of Pujya Swami Abhedanandaji, who is the In-charge of Chinmaya Mission of South Africa since 2006.

Devi Annapoorna, the Goddess of Nourishment, blesses not only with food but with abundance, wisdom, and compassion. In this spirit and under the guidance of Pujya Swami Abhedanandaji, we are building a temple dedicated to Her divine grace — right here in South Africa.
This temple is more than bricks and mortar. It is a spiritual sanctuary, a cultural home, and a beacon of service where every offering will go toward feeding the body, mind, and soul of our communities.
Temple Construction Plans
Bhoomi Poojan for the Annapoorna Devi temple was done on April 11, 2025. The construction work for the temple is in full swing.
The temple construction is expected to be completed by October 2025, and inauguration is planned around Navaratri.
